Peter Kennedy is a global finance professional with over 30 years of experience in deal origination, investing, management, and governance of both private and public companies across Asia, the US, and Europe. An experienced board member serving on over 20 boards, specializing in impact and technology, with advanced certification from MIT in cybersecurity board governance. Peter currently leads SilverCape's private equity and Japan public equity strategy. He has led several PE funds and invested more than US$500M into private Asian businesses over the last two decades. He has been a thought leader on impact investing and has invested in over 20 deals in this area since 2003. Prior to entering the private equity sector, he was a highly ranked equity analyst at Morgan Stanley, covering the telecom and data center sectors, with 11 initial public offerings brought to market, raising over US$3B.
Kelvin Chiu is a Board Member for SilverCape Advisors K.K. and the Founder and CIO of SilverCape Investments, a Singapore-based single-family office with offices in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Tokyo. SilverCape Investments specializes in proprietary trading, public equities investing, and constructive engagement strategies. Kelvin began his career in proprietary commodities trading, working at Goldman Sachs International (London) and Vitol Asia (Singapore) prior to trading his own capital in 2018. His trading career is featured in the book Market Wizards – The Next Generation by Jack Schwager and George Coyle. Kelvin grew up in Hong Kong and the United Kingdom, and graduated with an MA in Economics from the University of Cambridge. Outside of investing, Kelvin is an avid diver, hiker, and skier, and is passionate about protecting the natural world through Silverstrand Capital, which supports impact and conservation work.
Michael King is a seasoned global executive and entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience driving growth, transformation, and innovation in the technology, consulting, and hospitality industries. Known for his principled leadership and deep relationship networks across Japan and Asia-Pacific, Michael has held pivotal roles including President and Representative Director of Citrix Systems Japan, CIO and General Manager at Rakuten, President and Representative Director of Autodesk, and Head of Asia Pacific for Wasabi Technologies and HYCU. At Rakuten, Michael led critical functions including E-Commerce IT and the Data & AI organization, managing a 600+ person team and spearheading key digital transformations. He also played a central role in expanding Autodesk's business in Japan and the broader Asia-Pacific region, leading the strategic pivot to subscription-based services. At Wasabi, he launched and scaled the Asia-Pacific operations, signing distribution deals in 11 countries and driving a partner network of over 700 firms. Michael holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from The Ohio State University, with a focus on Marketing, Transportation, and Logistics. He is passionate about ethical leadership, building high-performing teams, and fostering long-term partnerships built on trust.
Nishant is an investment professional in SilverCape's Japan Rejuvenate strategy, where he focuses on investment research, due diligence, and trade execution, and works closely with senior leadership on the strategy's partnerships with portfolio companies. He also helps manage the family office's impact investment portfolio, building on his prior work across its impact investing and private equity mandates, where he originated and closed numerous direct and fund-level investments in venture- and growth-stage opportunities globally, including in Southeast Asia, the US, and Europe. Earlier in his career, he co-founded and ran a business, giving him a practical operator's perspective on the companies he evaluates. Nishant holds a Master of Applied Finance from Singapore Management University.
Hayato Takahashi is an accomplished Country Manager, President, and Senior Executive in Japan, with roles across IT-leading companies such as IBM, Citrix, and Autodesk, and distributor TD Synnex. A significant highlight of his career was his role as Country Manager of Quantum Japan, leading their Japan business as a leader in data management and storage. He holds tremendous experience across a long career, having led business development, product management, demand generation, and lead generation for companies in Japan.
Jeff Huber is Co-Founder & General Partner of Triatomic Capital, a venture capital firm helping great entrepreneurs build 'century-defining' businesses & technologies (2022-present). Prior to Triatomic, Jeff was also the founding CEO of GRAIL, a company on the mission to detect cancer early, when it can be cured. Prior to GRAIL, Jeff was a Senior Vice President at Google. Over 13 years at Google, Jeff co-founded Google's life sciences efforts in Google[x] (2013-2016), and led development and scaling for Google Maps (2011-2013), Google Apps (2005-2010), and Google Ads (2003-2011). During his tenure as an executive at Google, Jeff oversaw 50x growth in revenues (from $1 billion to >$50 billion) and organization (1,000 to >50,000 employees), and managed a $5 billion P&L and large distributed teams (5,000+ direct-line employees). Jeff is a board member of Mammoth Biosciences, Electronic Arts (EA), Upstart (UPST), Openwater, Genalyte (Chairman), Zapata Computing, and the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy (PICI), and is a former board member of GRAIL (2016-2021; acquired for $10.1B), Aldevron (2019-2021; acquired for $9.6B), Ancestry.com (2018-2020; acquired for $4.7B), Weta Digital (2020-2021; tech assets acquired for $1.625B), and Illumina (ILMN; 2014-2016).
Mari Horikawa is an experienced operations and executive support professional who has long supported senior and C-level executives across leading global financial services and technology organizations. Through her work with regional and global leadership teams across the APAC region, she has built a strong track record in cross-functional service coordination and operational management. At SilverCape, Mari provides cross-functional support to the investment and advisory teams across both the Japan public-equity strategy and strategic business consulting activities, while overseeing the firm's overall operations in the Tokyo office.
